He will present some delicious recipes perfect for spring entertaining. The cooking class is on the mezzanine level in the on-site classroom at the Whole Foods Market in Lincoln Park, 1550 North Kingsbury, Chicago. It will be held on Monday, April 11 from 7pm-8:30pm. The cost is $10.00 per person.

Duck Duck Goat Opens in Chicago

duck duck goat izzardTHURSDAY  is the big day!

Opening day for Stephanie Izard’s Southeast Asian-inspired restaurant, Duck Duck Goat.

The announcement is big news for Izard’s fans, as the chef announced the restaurant back in February 2015. The opening, once again in collaboration with the Boka Restaurant Group, was originally planned for last year. Reservations are now available on OpenTable.

Izard’s restaurant at 857 W. Fulton Market will initially only serve dinner, offering “reasonably authentic Chinese cuisine,” according to a news release, kicking off at 4:30 p.m. daily. This is Izard’s third restaurant following Randolph Row siblings The Girl & The Goat and Little Goat.

Throughout the star-studded evening, Diva Dulce Andrews will entertain the crowd with live performances while guests sip half-priced martinis, including “The Academy” (Effen vodka, Le Fleur liqueur and a splash of white grape juice, $7). Kit Kat’s theatrical-themed dinner menu will be available, featuring “Opening Act” small plates (sriracha glazed tempura shrimp; bacon truffle mac n cheese; crab cakes; chicken satay), “Show Stopper” entrees (Elizabeth Taylor fish & chips; Cary Grant burger; Mae West chicken and waffles; Lauren Bacall ravioli) and “Grand Finale” desserts (decadent chocolate cake; carrot cake; brownie sundae a la mode). In addition to the regular menu, Chef Joann Witherell will offer a special Steak Oscar entree, featuring a trio of filet medallions finished with bearnaise, served with mashed potatoes and tempura asparagus for $29.

Chef JoAnn Witherell’s Christmas prix fixe menu (outlined below) includes a holiday martini, Kit Kat salad, herb-marinated roasted turkey breast, traditional stuffing, mashed potatoes, green beans, cranberry and pineapple relish, and pumpkin pie tart for only $25 with canned good donation ($49.95 without donation). Lakeview’s Kit Kat Lounge and Supper Club will hold their annual Marilyn Monroe birthday brunch extravaganza on Sunday, May 31 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. (Marilyn was born on June 1, 1926). Throughout the day, Diva Madam X will perform as the ultimate Hollywood icon herself with rousing renditions of “Diamonds Are a Girl’s Best Friend,” “I Wanna Be Loved By You” and “Happy Birthday, Mr. President”, along with an array 1950’s show tunes.

Brunch guests may choose to dine alfresco on Kit Kat’s stylish sidewalk patio, or in the main dining room complete with seven jumbo projection screens playing Marilyn’s movies and retro footage of the starlet. Kit Kat’s weekend brunch menu will be offered (Chicken and Waffles; Crab Cakes Benedict; Rice Krispie French Toast; Steak Skillet and more), along with build your own mimosas, bloody martinis, sangria and bellinis for $14.95 with the purchase of any brunch entree.

In honor of Marilyn’s birthday event, the supper club’s bar team will be shaking and serving a special “Goddess” martini made with Effen Vodka, white grape juice, champagne float and sugared rim ($7).
